Mattress warehouse fire in Phoenix

Firefighters were still on the scene Friday morning after battling a stubborn blaze at a mattress warehouse in central Phoenix on Thursday night. The fire erupted at 5:30 p.m. near 31st and Indian School and was described as a third-alarm fire by officials.

Mattress fire damages house

A house fire Wednesday damaged a bedroom in a home at 704 N. Van Eps Ave. and caused smoke damage throughout the house. Firefighters were called out to the home about 1:30 p.m. and found a mattress on fire on the second floor, according to a news release. The fire was under control in about five minutes. No residents were home at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Blaze rips through west Phoenix mattress factory

PHOENIX (AP) — Firefighters say a blaze that sent up billowing smoke visible across the Phoenix area was burning at a mattress factory. Fire Capt.
